Taiko Saito has won the German Jazz Award 2024 in the drums/percussion category.
Taiko Saito stood out last year primarily with her extraordinary solo album Tears of a Cloud, an impressive work. Her characteristic sound and compositions, combined with a sensitive handling of silence and time, make her unmistakable,” summarizes the expert jury about the Berlin-based percussionist, who has already toured worldwide as a member of various combos.
Andromeda Mega Express Orchestra was also nominated in the ensemble category in 2024 and is the winner of the German Jazz Award 2021.
